About Zoonote

Hey, I'm Yee Wei.👋

I built Zoonote because I was sick of always unlocking my phone and searching for the app every time I needed to do anything with my notes and todo lists. It got particularly bad when I was doing my grocery going down the shopping list. And I couldn't find a note app that wouldn't force me to unlock my phone just to create, view, or edit my stuff cuz yeah that would suck. Over time, I've built enough features that it's replaced Google Keep for me, and it's now the only note-taking app I use every day.

And I wanted this app to align with my values. In my personal life, I care a lot about user experience, doing the right thing, minimal footprint, honesty, justice, privacy, speed, wide boundary system thinking; and putting my passion into solving a unique problem within my means; user feedback based on their lived experience interacting with the app triumphs my personal opinion; always stressing myself out walking the tight rope between form and function.

And this app is a continuous testament to all those dynamics: it has no ads, no subscription (unless warranted due to recurring costs per user), no account (no personal info ever stored), no user analytics or telemetry or tracking that phones home or a third-party vendor, no intrusive popups or notifications, no dark patterns, no psychological hooks with ulterior motives, no upsell, no premium tier. All it is, is very straightforward: to simply exist, solve a unique problem (with my skin in the game), do it well enough all-around that people would pay for it, new features in the app are built solely based on user feedback, and be happy that close to 100 users are using my app every day!
